Wrap-up | April 2017

Hello, everyone! April was an okay month for reading. I read mostly Comics, again… It’s because I have found it difficult to concentrate on a book for too long, so comics are “Easier” to get through.

But here is all the books I have read, a little comment on it and the link to all my reviews. ♥

1) Belle’s Tale (Disney Beauty and the Beast #1) – Mallory Reaves and Studio Dice (Illustrator)

32841044

★★★★★

I really liked this manga. It was beautiful made. It follow the live action, so you have to see that before reading this. This manga follows Belle through the story.

2)  The Beast’s Tale (Disney Beauty and the Beast #2) – Mallory Reaves, Studio Dice (Illustrations)

★★★★★

This I also loved as well. So beautiful. Even if it is exactly as the movie, it’s still worth reading.

3) Rust: The Boy Soldier (Rust 0.1) – Royden Lepp

25814450

★★★★☆

I really liked this one. The artwork was really beautiful and told a whole story. Literally. Because not a lot was said. It’s a Prologue to ‘The Boy Soldier’ series, so it’s good if you already know the world.

4) I Don’t Like Reading –  Lisabeth Emlyn Clark

★★★★★

I loved this! It really gave me an understanding for dyslexic people. A beautiful little story, all should read! 🙂

5) The Hour Wasp – Jay Sheets, Robyn Leigh Lear (Illustrations)

34565456

★★☆☆☆ (2,5)

I will admit I choose this based on the cover and it was maybe not the best choice. This is a poetry collection and damn this is for hardcore lovers of poetry and people who fully understand the English language. I found it hard and that way boring. But the artwork was so beautiful and I’m sure other people will like the poetry also.

6) Breaking Up Is Hard To Do… But You Could’ve Done Better by Hilary Campbell

31944977

★★★★☆

I found this really good and funny! It’s a collection of essays about real life break up stories. The artwork in this book is also cute and funny!

7) Elves. Vol. 1 (Elfes #1-2) – Jean-Luc Istin,  Kyko Duarte (Illustrations)

29430593

★★★☆☆ (3,5)

While I found the artwork beautiful, it was hard to read through. Especially the first of the stories. It was either confusing or too fast. The second story was better and you actually felt something for the characters.

8) Snow White, the Seven Dwarves, and the Adorable Bed and Breakfast – Michael Ann Dobbs, Bree Paulsen (Illustrations)

34763879

★★★★☆

I found this little story good. I liked that it wasn’t a direct retelling of the original story and that Snow White actually didn’t end up with the prince. It wasn’t even because something bad happened, she just chooses not to do it and the story is actually totally different to the actual story. You should all read it.

9) Frostbite by Alexandria Bellefleur

34218326

★★★★☆

I really loved this story. I felt it was way too short. Not because it was missing something, but simply because I enjoyed it so much. Plus it was only 65 pages. Cute story with some gay romance in it.

10)  Assassin’s Creed – Anthony Del Col, Conor McCreery, Fred Van Lente, Neil Edwards (Illustrator), Dennis Calero (Illustrator)

33541512

★★★★☆

Totally loved this. It had two issues in it and it was a little preview of both stories. I can’t wait to read them.

11) Suicide Squad, Volume 1: The Black Vault by Rob Williams

31224347

★★★☆☆

I didn’t like this very much. I hated Amanda Waller and she was in like every other scene. I loved Harley Quin and she was the one who made me read it through.

There you have my wrap-up for April. I feel it is pretty decent size. Tell my if you have read any of them and what you think about it.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day! ♥

The Hour Wasp | Review

34565456

★★☆☆☆ (2,5)

The Hour Wasp – Jay Sheets, Robyn Leigh Lear (Illustrations)

Pages: 88

Publisher: April Gloaming Publishing

Publication date: 28 May 2017

Genre: Poetry

Free copy provided by Netgalley in return for an honest review

The first thing that made me want to read this were the gorgeous cover. It’s so beautiful. So even if I’m not that into and used to poetry, I wanted to read it. Maybe not the best decision… Not to say it’s bad, but wow there were a lot of big words in this. So the combination being a newbie at reading poetry and not having English as my first language, it made it so much harder for me to read. Not that I didn’t understand the words, it just made harder for me. But I made it and I’m sure people who are more used to poetry would like this so much more than me.
I loved the illustrations in this book. They were so beautiful. I’m happy that the art also was inside the book because it was the art that made me want to read it.
So I will recommend this to people who like poetry already. It’s definitely not a book you will want to start out with.

April 2017 TBR

17690722_1688415784502335_1663712342_n

Yeah, this is my very big and almost imaginative TBR. Especially when you think about how I also have some E-books I have to read. Oh well, i hope I will get through at least half of them. Because 4 of them is from the library and I really want to read it before I have to take them back. Wish me luck!

I will write a little about why I want to read it and not what the books is about (maybe a little bit with someone). Because you can just read the Goodreads page I have linked with each book.

Throne of glass – Sarah J. Maas

I want to read it because I have heard so much raving about this book. literally everyone has read it, or I feel like that. Plus Badass woman assassin always makes me wanna read a book. I hope I will get to it.

Eventyret om fjeren og rosen – Josefine Ottesen

This is a Danish book if you were wondering. I really wanna read it, because Josefine Ottesen is one of my favorite authors. I have loved many of her other books and a lot of people love this. I have to read this.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe – C.S. Lewis

I really want to read this and have wanted to for years. But for some reason, i never picked it up. I loved the movies and have heard only good things about. Plus it’s a small book, so it can only be easier.

Women Who Run With the Wolves –  Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Emma Watson has made a book club called Our Shared Shelf and this is the March-April read. I want to read it because it sounds really interesting. But I had not seen that I was on over 600 pages. Like what… So I’m unsure if I will get to this because it’s not something I would normally read.

Dragens kys – Josefine Ottesen

Yeah, a Josefine Ottesen book again. But I really want to re-read again. I have already read it at least 2 times before. But I really love this book and it’s one of my favorite.

Jais – Jason Kasper

I got this book, by winning it on Goodreads. So the author has sent it directly to me and it is even SIGNED. So I really want to read it soon, just to be nice and give a review for it. It’s only a little over 200 pages, so it must be possible.

I really also want to get to some of the E-books I got through Netgalley and because some of them as already come out and others I going to come out soon. I will just list them down bellow, with the Goodreads link to it. Then you can look at it.

Disney Beauty and the Beast: Belle’s Tale – Mallory Reaves and Studio Dice (Already read and reviewed: X)

Disney Beauty and the Beast: The Beast’s Tale – Mallory Reaves and Studio Dice

Rust: The Boy Soldier (Rust 0.1) – Royden Lepp (Already read and reviewed: X)

Lady Mechanika Vol 2 – Joe Beníez, M. M. Chen

The Hour Wasp – Jay Sheets

Elves – Jean-Luc Istin

Juliet Takes a Breath – Gabby Rivera

Frostbite – Alexandria Bellefleur

As you can see, i’m really optimistic and kinda stupid. But It’s going to be fun to see what i get to read.

Thank you and have a nice day. ♥
